Lyrics analysis
We chose to do the first 42 seconds of the song
[Intro]
No, Billy, I haven't done that dance since my wife died
There's a whole crowd of people out there who need to learn how to do The Scarn
These vocal snippets are sampled from S7:E17 of The Office, “Threat Level Midnight,”
[Verse 1]
Don't ask questions you don't wanna know
Learned my lesson way too long ago
To be talkin' to you, belladonna
“Belladonna” is another term for ‘deadly nightshade,’ a drug that can be used for sleep aid, Billie knows she’s speaking with a toxic person. Despite this, she’s still addicted.
Shoulda taken a break, not an Oxford comma
The Oxford comma, or “serial comma” comes before the ‘and’/‘or’ in a series – acting as a break between the last and second-to-last items in a list.
Billie uses grammar as a metaphor to say that she should have stopped to take a break (a full stop) instead of adding another thing to her list (an Oxford comma).
Take what I want when I wanna
And I want ya
[Pre-Chorus]
Bad, bad news
One of us is gonna lose
I'm the powder, you're the fuse
Just add some friction
Our concept
In this music video, we dive into the twisted depths of an obsessive fan’s psyche, tracing the fine line between admiration and envy. The main character—a girl deeply fixated on her idol—she is watching her idol's show with another actress. Overcome with jealousy, she ripped his photo. Then, followed by the verse, the music switches to a darker tone.
We have decided to express the protagonist's inner emotions in a form similar to a dialogue to her inner self. A shadow appears first, emits a red light, and then disappears. Another shadow appeared, emitting a blue light, and then both shadows appeared simultaneously with the protagonist. the red light symbolising her passion and idol worship, while the blue reflects her jealousy and sense of betrayal. Eventually, the shadows merge, surrounding her in a haunting, spectral dialogue that embodies her strange addiction to this consuming, unhealthy love.

Lighting
The main tone we decided to use for the second half of the music video is dark tone while switching red and blue lights. Therefore, we tried to use colourful light sticks
Multi-layer mask blending
We used Capcut for editing
As explained in our concept previously, for the two shadows we used multi-layer blending effect. By adding three footage together and adjust the transparency.
