A music video is a short film or visual presentation that accompanies a song or piece of music. These videos often feature imagery, storytelling, or artistic elements that align with the music to enhance the listening experience.

Purpose?

  1. Storytelling

Some music videos tell a story, either relating directly to the lyrics or through abstract visual symbolism.

2. Visual Interpretation of the Music

A music video gives the artist or director an opportunity to visually interpret the lyrics, mood, or message of the song. It adds another dimension to the listener's experience.

  • Highlights the musicianship and energy of the performers

  • Include dancing, lip-syncing, and band members playing their various instruments. It can even be a recording of them playing live

Conceptual/Abstract

  • Based around a loose theme, driven by imagery, symbolism, or visual effects rather than a clear story or performance

  • Often used to evoke emotions or convey a certain mood without directly referencing the lyrics

  • These cameos doesn't have to necessarily align with the main narrative but could add an element of surprise or fun by showcasing famous figure
